A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced, qualified Chef to join our well established and highly reputable catering company, working at a kitchen site in an aged care facility, located in Traralgon. This position will include weekend work.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparation and cooking of meals for residents as per menu
Budget, stock take and regular ordering
Monitoring of stock after delivery
Communicating daily with the Operations Manager and facility staff
Ensuring kitchen operations adhere to Food Safety Program
Supervision and the provision of direction to kitchen staff
Ensuring all staff handle food according to safe food practices
Ensuring all food is served to customers in a presentable manner
Completion of food safety documentation
Following up and documenting complaints
Monitoring and authorising time sheets
Assisting with weekly rostering and filling shifts
Qualifications and Experience:
Certificate 3 Commercial Cooking qualification
Experience as an aged care chef
Current food safety supervisor training - HLTFS (within last 4 years)
Demonstrated management experience
Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Sector
Basic computer skills (emails, online ordering)
Current police check required.
