A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced, qualified Chef to join our well established and highly reputable catering company, working at a kitchen site in an aged care facility. This position will include weekend work.

Responsibilities will include:

  •  Preparation and cooking of meals for residents as per menu

  •  Budget, stock take and regular ordering

  •  Monitoring of stock after delivery

  •  Communicating daily with the Operations Manager and facility staff

  •  Ensuring kitchen operations adhere to Food Safety Program

  •  Supervision and the provision of direction to kitchen staff

  •  Ensuring all staff handle food according to safe food practices

  •  Ensuring all food is served to customers in a presentable manner

  •  Completion of food safety documentation

  •  Following up and documenting complaints

  •  Monitoring and authorising time sheets

  •  Assisting with weekly rostering and filling shifts

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate 3 Commercial Cooking qualification 

  • Experience as an aged care chef

  • Current food safety supervisor training - HLTFS (within last 4 years)

  • Demonstrated management experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Sector

  • Basic computer skills (emails, online ordering)

  • Current police check required.
